Kevin McClung was born in Washington DC and was raised in Annandale VA. In his formative years he spent a lot of time on the family farm in Snow Hill WV where the love of mountain music was cultivated. He dabbled with various instruments and other forms of artistic expression until finally settling on the one that captivated him most, the banjo.
Kevin picked it up quite by accident as he was repaying a debt owed his father for a dirt bike. The slate would be wiped clean if he fulfilled a promise to practice thirty minutes a day for three months. What started out to be a burden soon became the vehicle by which McClung would pour so much of his creative energies. Song writing would follow and not long after graduating from the Virginia Military Institute he headed for Nashville to pursue his dreams.
The pursuit continues today as he works as a musician and songwriter in a suburb of Music City with his wife Holly and their daughter Claire.
